Ticks are God’s creatures. So are mosquitoes, tapeworms, and even cats. And God Himself called them “very good”.

Of course, that was before the Fall, when ticks would have been vegetarian (from a young-earth creationist perspective).
When Adam sinned, God cursed creation, and now we suffer the consequences of that curse. Of course, we’re the stewards of God’s creation, and it’s still fundamentally “good”, but probably not “very good”, and God gave us dominion over creation, and ticks transmit Lyme disease, and are literally out for blood, and—
